These notes will be expanded as questions are asked an answered about Jayfish v5.0, this version contains most of what v4.3 did.
Therm section can now automatically pickup what your therm sensor serial numbers are in the web interface once you have hooked them up. Making it easier to add. I have also reduced the therm complexity, it was unnecessarily complex. hourly data and a 24hr window is all that is needed. On top of live readings from the dashboard.
This is a MAJOR upgrade in lighting, you dont have to use LDD lights but if you built your own LDD light setup you will be VERY VERY happy. Essentially it would allow you to create up to 16 independent lights with full digital gradient control, separate colours if you like, skies the limit. Have a slow sunrise and sunset.
IF YOU DONT HAVE LDD or are using LDD Lights, no problem, use regular on and off lights with relays. Then READ about LDD and get on board.
The Database Changed So
You will need to write down all your GPIO settings you had setup, a fresh install is required, there are too many changes to upgrade from 4.3.
ATO has third float now
This is optional but you can now select a third float that you can place in your ATO to know that it is run dry, it will write an alert to the RSS alerts. Also it will protect your dry pump immediately, if there is no water in it .. it will cease to pump.
What about the hardware guide / shopping list?
A new version is being created, all the current options for 4.3 are still valid, including how to and so on.
The old feeder / feed option removed.
The feeder removed. The reason this was removed was the the Dosing Schedule, can easily act as a feeder mechanism for DIY feeders, in fact it’s better. I will be redeveloping the “FEED” button to rather pause x,y,z for 10 minutes during feeds.
Pi 7″ LCD
We really want to start using this, but you can alternatively use any tablet for this if you navigate to your website http:/x.x.x.x/lcd.php you will received the touch screen controls to see basic statuses aswell as a second page for manual relay controls.
